rotterdam duo 25 places are a talented pair weve been following for some time. no strangers to the label, tayfun and stefan appeared on dirt crew with their roller of a track good time on deep love 3 in 2013, while the latter of the two dropped his solo warehouse ep under his last mood moniker with us back in 2012. on top of everything, the guys launched their own label late night running last year. we are proud to present their latest creation for dirt crew, the love more ep. the love more ep is old school and raw house music, its a complete collection of classic sounding cuts that explore moods for all hours.

s1 warsaw is back! after last years sampler including crooked disco debut from matat professionals it is time to get back to artists series with warsaw-based producers full lenght ep. dial b for fun time is a perfect soundtrack to memories of 90s teenager spending all day hanging around skate spots, driving car and listening to some noisy mixtapes, watching skateboarding movies and cheesy comedy flicks on vhs tapes or bombing downtown at night. sounds and styles blended in these four tracks vary from early dj shadows sublime beats, soundstreams disco-house pumpin, bjørn torskes nordic moods to mobb deeps lo-fi hardcore hip-hop instrumentals. all served with cheeky sense of humor and dose of irony.

the original he serves up here is my groove, a firmly rooted and solid bit of house music with classically inclined vocal chants by gjeazon from crazy like a fox records, that recall eddie amador s biggest cut. subtle details embellish the groove and make it all the more standout, and those deep looping basslines really pull you into the middle of the track, which also has airy hi hats and a sleazy sense of funk. the first remix comes from afterparty founder, rinse fm radio host, former usher tour dj, southern fried affiliate and pioneer collaborator doorly, who also runs his own pigeon hole label. his remix smooths out the kinks and simmers a grainy groove for seven shuffling, seductive minutes. rolling effects and a big breakdown are sure to make for some fist pumping moments in the club. last to remix is play it down producer and foremost danish dj christian nielsen. he does so with an increased sense of urgency and his track hits that bit harder as a result, all thanks to a dirty down low bassline that just rolls and rolls.

umeks infamous label 1605 returns on wax with a bang with two firing break beat / electro techno inspired cuts, a main stay in the big mans sets for the last few months.

for the a-side, fuse london resident antony difrancesco joins forces with dutch born ferro and opens up with the aggressive and hypnotic -des-, with its tough drums and mesmerising pads. next up is tini and the gang- regular, crocodile soup, who brings his deeper side into action on these shoes are made for walking , a track that is elastic and seductive and expertly arranged. david gtronic s signature drums and trippy pads then mark a stunning opening to the b-side on down the burrow and last but not least, he did closes the vinyl with -algunas palabras , a track with a mixture of minimalistic and natural sounds that make for compelling listening and perfectly showcase the he did sound. this is a classy ep from a label that the world needs to get behind as they continue to grow.

the krankbrother label comes back out of the blocks this may, hot on the heels of their inaugural release (produced by krankbrother themselves), with a second offering, this time from young welsh producer jody barr. having been producing and demoing material for the last couple of years, barr has been picking up some fans of late, including george fitzgerald and b-traits, and this release on krankbrother marks his debut single, and a bright future.

the mighty geena is back on antinote with a new ep filled with deepest psychedelic goodness and spaced surprises. comes housed in a glorious printed sleeve! tip! side a starts with -tone loc- a heavy geenafied future classic, complete with signature celestial pan pipes and a deeper than deep bassline, together building in intensity with muted distant vocals adding to the sweet heady confusion. the next track -minus jam- is on a similar path of ecstatic disorientation, with spinning delayed glass toms supervised by the darkest dictatorial bass line confirming geena is a master of light and dark. side 2 continues with -box of exotica- where we are sent to a dreamy post blade runner musical world of traditional and futuristic collision augmented with beautiful and equally dark japanese stick music vocals. the last track -green resident- also walks the cosmic path found throughout this gorgeous ep, softer at first than the others, but the silky darkness soon seeps in bringing cosmic order to geenaland.

the last time these gentlemen linked up was for their release what you see on leftroom limited in december of 2013. since then, circle (rob paine + keith landis) produced another ep for worship while rise 8 has been recording their full length album. the universe let these artistic minds & souls meet in the studio once again to create gone too deep. the original mix is a deep and moody house builder that is really brought to life through the haunting vocals of rise 8 s gerhardt koerner.

rounding off the vinyl series that accompanies themas label-defining strength in numbers compilation, part 4 downsizes from 12 inch to 7 inch to present two distinctive jams that show some of the farthest reaches of the new york imprints sound. laurine frost may be best known as part of the nonconformist house and techno scene of europe through releases on perspectiv, sharingtones and nervmusic, but on this special creation for thema he makes the perfect tribute to the city that gave rise to the label, with a little help from the racy diatribe of amiri baraka on “your house”. by way of a truly special finale for the series, minneapolis maverick dj slip graces the label with an all-too rare appearance, taking an altogether more primal approach on “x7” that channels his years spent conjuring up next level techno for missile, music man and more into a taut and punchy electro excursion infected with tricked out effects and seductive sci-fi noir atmospherics. it’s the perfect example of the freaky fringes thema has comfortably reached to over the course of the last forty releases.

ovc is from chicago where he has been producing, and playing out electronic stuff in one form or another for like ten years including a lot of gigs and some residencies for example in sonotheque. but it s only the last three or four years hes gotten into the deeper side of techno and recently into the deeper/dubbier techno style, his music is a little raw as he does it all in hardware just live to two-track. he weaves together deep narratives out of a collection of blinking sequencers and drum machines, always assisted by a generous dose of reverb and delay. ovc releases with us on telrea the first 3 tracker we have done. all 3 tracks being on the calmer side of electronic music, rich in depth of sound and motion.

prodigious underground nyc producer larry josephs sparque project turned in a handful of classic 12inchs for west end records & lets go dancing is probably the most well known of all of them. all the hallmarks of classic west end are here, the futuristic production (1981!) soulful vocals & killer arrangements all combine with francois kevorkian & larry levans legendary mixing desk skills to give us this bonafide garage classic that rocked dance floors from nyc to chicago on its release & still packs a punch today! this record is all about having fun, partying & losing yourself in the music, an essential classic that has stood the test of time for the last 30+ years & is now available again, remastered & repressed for 2015 in conjunction with west end records, nyc.

a fan of limitations, the maghreban took multi samples from his casio mt-70 keyboard and used only them to make this ep whilst on holiday in north wales last year. most of the tracks were made whilst staying at portmeirion, the strange resort where *the prisoner* was filmed in the late 60s. the maghreban is a fan. the result is more mechanical than previous excursions, dictated by the entirely synthetic source material. no dusty vinyl samples this time. more techno. very early support from ben ufo and lefto.

2015 looks like it could be the year that the danes make underground dance their own. the long running tartelet label changed direction last year and found a winning formula releasing the incredible max graef lp.

odd008 comes courtesy of london bright new upstart, henry wu. wus funked up, woozy productions immediately grabbed our attention last year and were delighted to welcome him to odd socks. motions of wu vol. 1 showcases 4 tracks of ultra smooth, part tender, part dancefloor business. enjoy!

london based us producer lance de sardi joins the hudd traxx fray for the last 12inch before the label hits 50 releases and commence the 10th anniversary celebrations. although there s only three cuts on west country, de sardi more than shows his diversity as a producer and it s a fine addition to a discography that dates back to the 90s.pariah kicks the ep off in fine style with smooth beats, an infectious vocal and lush pads ensure that this will be a big one for the heads. flip for the b side and find a tough acidy number in youth, and a groovy track in race the clock which is made for the dance floor. 2015 is already proving to be a big year for hudd traxx following releases from iron curtis & nachtbraker, and lance de sardi keeps the flag flying high with this solid ep.

ben sims reignites his dormant symbolism imprint for 2015. last active in 2006, symbolism is about music with real mood and will continue to impart sims vision of techno through releases from newcomers and established acts alike. the first release comes from d_func and includes an edit from sims himself.

after their first big things i didnt mean ep on dirt crew back in 2013 the cali boys urulu & steve huerta teamed up again for another release full of bliss deep house cuts. both relocated to berlin last year and have since then been extremely busy with their solo output on labels like lets play house, needwant, shabby doll and urulus own imprint amadeus

with iyewaye, the first solo-ep after the release of his fifth album i am ok last year, oliver koletzki shows himself in a new, but not altogether unfamiliar light: since his breakthrough in 2005 with der mückenschwarm koletzki hasnt sounded this hard. gone is the pop-angle, replaced by a dark sound-aesthetic and raw energy. but even here, in the techno realm, oliver koletzki demonstrates his inimitable sense for melody: thus, the gloomy and driving framework of iyewaye is lit up by a crystal-clear synth-sequence. similarly, ipuza, which hypnotizes by way of reduction and repetition, is funky in its core thanks to a rolling tribal groove. functional, but with heart and soul.
